My love for ombre polish continues. You can probably tell that I am a big fan of this color palette as it is similar to my blog header. I'm glad burgundy/oxblood/maroon and whatever else it will be called is still trending because you will definitely be seeing more of it from me.

A sophisticated and energetic room was in order for Kelly Wearstler's contest on Polyvore.com. The mandate given was to incorporate several design periods into the party vignette. I went for Hollywood Regency, Mid-Century Modern and Louis XVI. They blended well yet were noticeably different. This design is the right atmosphere for a party with its pattern, color and finishes creating a lively space for characters to mingle.

Thinking of the story of Peter Rabbit and how cute a nursery design would be I went right to work. I have to say I fell in love with this bunny-eared pillow, the colors and soft furry texture are perfect. I didn't want to go to literal with connections to the story so I looked for items that gave more of a subtle nod.
